Reinventing the employee experience

Fujitsu Luxembourg places the employee experience at the heart of its values, helping to attract and retain the best talent in a stimulating and rewarding working environment.

At a time when the job market is becoming more and more competitive, attracting and retaining the best talent is becoming a crucial issue for business development. "We believe in consolidating the employee experience, from recruitment to the alumni experience," says Daniel MEYER, Talent Manager at Fujitsu Luxembourg. He explains: "We have therefore taken a comprehensive approach and developed a strategy that highlights each stage of our employees' careers: the 'Pulse' platform for recruitment, the 'Fujitsu & me' application as a channel for internal communication and for life in the company in general (fun events, meeting moments, team building, etc.) and the 'Boost' program to offer individual career development and targeted training". The aim of this approach is to offer employees a complete and enriching experience at every stage of their career.

How does Fujitsu's 'Pulse' recruitment program differ from traditional approaches? Fujitsu Luxembourg launched the "Pulse" recruitment platform in response to a specific need for tech professionals. "The aim is not only to present them with all our career opportunities, but also to simplify the recruitment process. Thanks to an intuitive interface, candidates can easily submit their CVs, covering letters and other supporting documents, in direct contact with our HR team," explains Daniel MEYER.

"Pulse is also about communicating our values as early as possible and presenting our commitments, particularly in terms of sustainable development, diversity and well-being at work," adds the Talent Manager. "As early as the recruitment process, candidates understand the company's culture and can make it their own. Our 'Be completely you' approach presented in the 'Pulse' platform is a good reflection of our commitment to diversity, fairness and inclusion within Fujitsu."

After the recruitment stage, what is the integration process like within Fujitsu and how do you maintain the link with your employees? Fujitsu Luxembourg has around 230 employees, more than two-thirds of whom are based externally with customers, so it's essential to take practical steps to maintain communication and develop team spirit.  "We launched the 'Fujitsu & me' app in October 2022 to be better connected with our employees so that they can stay up to date with company news, such as events organised, new arrivals, but also current projects. It's a user-friendly space where people can interact and share ideas, where we can introduce Fujitsu to Luxembourg, and where we can promote living together," explains Daniel MEYER.

The "Fujitsu & me" application showcases the entire working environment at Fujitsu Luxembourg, creating a real dynamic, notably through the organisation of internal events. In this way, Fujitsu Luxembourg aims to stimulate innovation and commitment among its employees. From friendly events to celebrate Spring, Christmas or even Halloween, to interactive workshops and themed presentations, Fujitsu Luxembourg offers invaluable opportunities for learning and sharing knowledge between the different teams. In-house events are a great way of keeping abreast of the latest technological advances and emerging trends.

Daniel MEYER adds, "We pay particular attention to ESG approaches, which reflect our commitment to environmental sustainability, social equity and sound governance. Internal events are an effective way of raising our employees' awareness of the importance of these initiatives and encouraging them to adopt sustainable practices in their day-to-day work".

The employee's career path is taken in hand throughout his or her time at Fujitsu. How does this work? Fujitsu's 'Boost' career and talent development program adopts an approach based on personal fulfilment and value creation. This is based on two fundamental pillars: learning and talent development. The aim of this program is to ensure the fulfilment of employees, while creating positive value for the company's entire ecosystem.

"The learning aspect of our programme is based on the conviction that our employees must constantly acquire new skills in line with new technologies, their expectations and market trends. To achieve this, we provide them with appropriate coaching, theoretical and practical training and on-the-job learning opportunities," explains Daniel MEYER.

Particular attention is also paid to developing individual skills. To achieve this, regular, personalised discussions are held with employees. These interactions help to identify areas for improvement and development specific to each employee. As the Talent Manager puts it: "This commitment to continuous development is proof of our investment in the long-term success and development of our employees."

How do these two pillars interact in the Fujitsu ecosystem? "The pillars of learning and talent development complement each other harmoniously to instil a positive work dynamic that results in superior service delivery that satisfies our customers and strengthens our position in the market. Reducing staff turnover, stimulating innovation and improving professional performance are all benefits that can be felt in our services. As a result, our customers are guaranteed expert service and advice from a motivated, competent and fulfilled team."

Fujitsu's employee experience is therefore based on a holistic approach focused on individual learning and development. By promoting a company policy focused on the well-being of its employees and a solid ESG approach, Fujitsu creates positive value for its entire ecosystem and contributes to building a more responsible society.
