Imagine a world where data sharing is secure, privacy-respecting, and effortlessly crosses borders, fostering unprecedented collaboration among sectors like healthcare, education, energy, space, and more. Welcome to the captivating universe of the TRUSTEE project!

TRUSTEE stands for "Trust and Privacy Preserving Computing Platform for Cross-Border Federation of Data." It is more than just an acronym! Launched in July 2022, the ambitious project aimed at creating a safe and privacy-conscious data sharing framework, aggregating interdisciplinary data repositories from various domains. From health to education, energy, space, and automotive, TRUSTEE embraces a secure-by-design approach with cutting-edge technologies like homomorphic encryption, secure and trust management, advanced ontologies for complex queries, transparent and trustworthy machine learning workflows, and even blockchain-based transaction recording for accountability.

Sofiane Lagraa, Team Leader for the CyberSecurity Innovation activity for Fujitsu Luxembourg, explains: "our aim is to develop a fair and private data ecosystem on a pan-European scale."

TRUSTEE adheres to European privacy and ethical standards, building a multi-disciplinary, Pan-European federated FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) and private data ecosystem, where trust is paramount.

The project will be validated across six different use cases, supporting European data spaces such as GAIA-X, EOSC and EGI.

A Collaborative European Effort

With the collaboration of 22 European partners across 13 countries, TRUSTEE is supported by Horizon Europe, the European Union's research and innovation program for the period 2021-2027. Funding that aims to promote research and innovation in Europe, while tackling societal challenges and strengthening the European research sector.

A key player in this project is Fujitsu Luxembourg, in particular the Enterprise & Cybersecurity team, which is taking a leading role in security and trust management.
